Arduino

I ordered an Arduino a couple of weeks ago, yesterday I picked it up from the post office and I'm pretty excited about it.

If you don't know what an Arduino is, the best way to describe it would be a cheap, open-source micro-controller that you can program and place inside pretty much anything you like. It pretty much gives anyone an opportunity to create an electronic product at home, opening their design and small-scale manufacture to the masses.

A lot of really interesting things have been made using Arduino and they're especially popular with music enthusiasts making their own instruments. My favorite example is the Monome.

I'm planning to use mine to make a menu screen and timer for an exposure unit I'm building in my studio, more on that later.
